Our Building Projects

I booked Jim and Craig to build our extension as a result of the favourable reviews they had received - and I am happy to add to those. They provide a core building service themselves and coordinate other specialist trades where necessary - I accepted Jim's recommendations on the whole and they proved to be good ones though getting time from the specialist trades has not been easy as they are so busy. Jim and Craig built our block and mortar extension quickly and well and were a pleasure to have around. We are very happy with the work they have done and would be happy to recommend them to others.

A shame there aren't 6 stars for Jim & Craig.

I don't want to be too chichéd, but Jim turned up when promised, quoted immediately, communicated brilliantly, came up with solutions, did great quality work, and came in under budget. This hadn't been my usual experience when managing building jobs - I wish I'd found this company years ago!!!

I was slightly nervous of hiring a firm who did the base build, but then facilitated a lot of 3rd party specialists (windows, plastering, electrics, carpentry etc.) I shoudn't have worried - comms were great, every member of Jim and Craig's "community" were like-minded, turned up when promised, were respectful, and worked damn hard. Ultimately, paying the contractors direct, probably saves some money too.

Big shout out to Craig, who did a beautiful job of our brick work in searing heat, and never stopped smiling.

From the first enquiry to the last text, Jim has been extremely helpful. He has provided us with sound advice aswell as recommending lots of other tradesmen who have also been great so far.
Jim gave us a very competitive and fair price for all of the work and quoted to start on the 6th Jan, which is a lot earlier than we thought. The week before, we received another text saying that he can start even earlier - amazing!
Jim and Craig turned up at the right time and got straight to work. They kept us updated all through the process and answered all of our questions. They are both easy to get on with and like to have a laugh, which is half the battle. 4 days later, they were finished.
The work they have done is outstanding.
You do not want any other builders.

What can we say about Jim Alcock Property Renovation and Development, he rescued us when our builder who was meant to be carrying out our loft conversion decided to retire. We were recommended Jim by an estate agent friend in Malvern who said that Jim is a “sweetie” and that everyone loves him. He came round one evening and enthused about the project. The beauty of Jim is that he offers more than most builders, he listens to what you want to do but shows his expertise when he needs to. Jim and Craig are a double act that gets the job done, but in a way that makes you feel like they really enjoy helping dreams come true. We had a vision of what our house would look like but when it became a reality it was 100 times better.
Jim project manages the whole build, coordinating with different elements of the build, although he has all of the elements covered we were still in control and could influence the build throughout, but Jim, Craig and Andy made you feel like they knew how to make everything come together in the most perfect way. Jim arranged for the roof to be removed, made water tight and then rebuilt with a new dorma window on the front of the house, saving money by reusing the Welsh Slate, Mike was an absolute star, climbing up on the roof during one of the storm days to make certain that the water would not come into the house.

As part of the build the house needed the gable wall to be repaired and also be insulated from the outside, Jim arranged for a specialist contractor to carry out the insulation and silicon rendering to be placed on the outside wall. They also repaired some of the other walls, using a pebbledash render, we were so impressed with the outcome, the wall blended into the rest of the white pebbledash of our house and our three neighbours houses. It was imperative that the look was maintained, we were so impressed and can already feel the benefit of the warmth of the house.

Jim arranged for the same contractors to also undertook the plastering internally as well, we were so impressed with the finish and helped to lift all of the rooms. We are so impressed with the house, Jim, Craig and Andy worked miracles, completing the build within 5 week, with only plumbing and final electrics still to be completed. Jim allowed us to use our family friend as the electrician, so reducing the cost of the build for us. Jim costed the project at the start, and the work has come in within budget but the finish is amazing. We cannot recommend Jim enough, he has exceeded all of our expectations, we are over the moon, the house was in a perfect location, with stunning views of the Malverns, but the interior now is as stunning as the outside views.

If you want a job done to the highest standard, with people that care and who are brilliant at what they do, then Jim and Craig are the men for the job, they bring the best people in to support the build but take all the worry out of it for you.

I am extremely pleased with the work Jim and Craig did on my two-story extension. Their communication was excellent—Jim responded promptly to all my messages—and they offered sound, trustworthy advice throughout the project. They made the entire process far more enjoyable than I had anticipated, and it was a pleasure to have them around. I’m absolutely delighted with the final result and would highly recommend them to anyone. I hope to work with them again in the future on another extension and have already recommended them to others.

Very pleased with the extension built for us by Jim & Craig. Good comms throughout the process and Jim responded positively to all our daft questions and requests to change original plans. Plenty of hurdles to overcome, both met them with a can-do attitude but also a realistic, pragmatic approach if things couldn't be exactly as wanted. Lovely guys, very much missed by our cats. 🙂 Would recommend.
